Many
North American university students that attend our schools as individual
students or as part of a group program are interested in receiving credits at
their university for attending a course in Spain. We understand that each
university has different administrative procedures, course requirements, and
transfer credit protocol. For this
reason we have arranged several different methods for students to use in order
to receive university credit for one of our courses.
If
you are a US university student interested in receiving credit for attaining one
of our courses, follow one the of the three methods described below.
If you have any questions, contact us.
The
first method is working directly with Escuela Internacional and the university
in question.
You
should check with your university's Department of International Programs or
whichever department makes decisions about transfer credit, and give them the
information in our general course brochure. Universities normally require
additional information in order to decide if they will grant credit and how much
credit to grant. This is why we
have prepared detailed program descriptions, actual syllabi, CV's of our
professors etc…to provide your university with.
Have the person in charge of deciding about the course credit contact us
or provide us with their name and mailing address and we will provide them with
a copy of our Manual for Universities that contains the additional information
and detailed descriptions.
More
complete versions of these materials are kept at Escuela Internacional and can
be provided upon the request of a university staff person.
The
second method is working with Academic Assessment Associates Internacional.
AAAI can also help students interested in receiving credit for one of our
courses. Students and professors can find all of the pricing information, forms
and procedure information on their web page at www.aaaixcredit.com. All a
student needs to do is:
The
third method is working with Eastern Washington University.
EWU is one of the many universities that already grants credits to its
students for attending our courses. EWU
also has a process similar to that of AAAI that allows non-EWU students to
acquire transfer credits for some of our courses.
Please contact us for more information.

| Approximately five years
ago, I developed our summer intensive Spanish-language program with the staff of the
Escuela Internacional. My objectives were to provide our students with top-quality
instruction in small, multilevel group sessions, to extend Spanish practice in
homestay-accommodations and to include cultural excursions and travel experiences in Spain
for our university group. Now, the experiences with three programs, (1996, 1997, and 1998) have proved highly successful regarding language objectives. Students at all levels of entry instruction, from minimal to advanced, made rapid progress in Spanish. The homestays extended language practice opportunities, while the cultural travel component provided interest and personal knowledge of many cities, historical sites and museums in Spain. The many successes of the intensive Spanish program are shared by the efficient administrative support of the Escuela Internacional staff and, in great part, by the professional and enthusiastic teachers in each level of instruction. Courses are well-coordinated throughout the day and there are optional events including films, music, and social excursions during the evenings. I am very pleased that our collaboration continues to develop a high-quality student experience from limited budget resources. This is one of the most popular study-abroad programs on our campus.
