cities which allow an attractive and safe Spanish course program for young students age 14
through 17 years of age. Students can learn the Spanish language and enjoy their
vacations in these beautiful cities.
Contents of the Junior Spanish Program
The Spanish classes The course consists of 20 lessons per week of
50 minutes each, in an international and fun atmosphere. Classes are very
dynamic and practical, in which students learn to use the Spanish language in daily life
situations. Special individualized attention is achieved with small classes of no
more than 10.
Cultural activities and weekend excursions In the
afternoons the junior students can take advantage of the cultural activities to
speak in Spanish and enjoy time with other participants and the professors. They
also visit historical monuments and museums, get together with other youth for
sports or see videos or movies in Spanish. Students will learn about places of
historical and cultural interest by participating in Saturday excursions.
The Accommodations
Spanish families. Students may live with a selected Spanish family, which
will help them to integrate quickly to the customs of Spain.
Residence. In Alcalá de Henares students have the option of living in a
residence, with sports installations and 24 hour reception and security
services.
Transportation service from the airport
As an optional service, students can request transfer from the airport to the
destination city. A representative of Escuela Internacional meets the student at
the Madrid Barajas Airport or in the Malaga airport to then take them to the
assigned accommodations.
Security and control
Alcalá de Henares and Salamanca are tranquil cities, of medium size, ideal for
students to become familiar with and without necessity of public transportation.
The Escuela Internacional building in Malaga is situated in a tranquil
residential area, Pedregalejo, very near the beach. In Alcalá de Henares and
Salamanca the installations are in the city center.
Students must follow norms established both by the school and parents, such as
a daily curfew, as well as demonstrating appropriate behavior during the program.
Junior Spanish Program in Alcalá de Henares
New in 2006
The
junior Spanish program in Alcalá de Henares takes place on a campus near the historical
center of the city of Alcalá, named a Cultural Heritage city in 1998. It is a tranquil
city, located about 35 minutes in train from the center of Madrid and only 15 km
from the Barajas International Airport (Madrid).
The advantage of studying in this city is that students live and study on the
same campus. Each student has an individual room and share bathroom facilities
with another room. There are study areas, TV and video room, cafeteria, dining
room, library, garden, and sports installations with a pool, basketball courts,
volleyball and soccer fields and an indoor sports facility. There are also 24
hour reception and security services.
Students can enjoy afternoon sports and recreation activities such as swimming,
basketball, horseback riding, archery, arts and crafts, first aid and cultural
visits. The students will be able to participate in activities with Spanish children and
youth who are attending summer camps at the same campus.
Every Saturday there is a one day excursion to learn about nearby places of
cultural and historical interest.

Junior Spanish Program in Salamanca Salamanca
is an ideal city for the junior Spanish program for the beauty and security that
this cultural city offers, also well known as a Cultural Heritage city. Students walk
safely through the streets of Salamanca experiencing the magic of the city,
which thousands of Spanish and international students visit every year. It is
not unusual for our young students to return to Salamanca various summers to
repeat the program to continue improving their Spanish and enjoying the city.
The Spanish program for youth in Salamanca is held in
the modern installations of Escuela Internacional just a 3 minute walk from the
Main Plaza and the historic center of the city. The combination of the unique
location and practicing the language in a real Spanish environment, classes are
divided in two blocks: the first to learn Spanish grammar and vocabulary and the
second to practice outside the classroom with Spaniards. Students visit the
Tourist Office, the post office and other areas of the city to complete group
work.
In
the afternoons there are cultural activities to learn about the city and Spanish
customs: visit the cathedrals and other historical monuments, as well as
swimming pools and sports centers in the city. On weekends there are excursions
to learn about nearby cities such as Ciudad Rodrigo,
Ávila, Segovia, Madrid
and Toledo.
Students reside in Spanish families, who are experienced in receiving
international students. Living with a Spanish family not only allows for
practice in speaking Spanish outside the classroom, but also offers the
opportunity to learn about Spanish customs and experience the flavors of the
Mediterranean cooking.

Junior Spanish Program in Málaga
For those students who like the sun, the sea and the beach, the junior program
in Malaga is the most appropriate. Malaga, being the capital of the Costa del
Sol, offers students an unforgettable vacation on the beach.
The school is located in a residential area of Pedregalejo, just east of the
city of Malaga, and 2 minutes from the beach. The school building has many
terraces where you can take in some sun and sea breezes. As in Salamanca,
classes are divided in 2 blocks: the first to
learn Spanish grammar and vocabulary and the second to practice out side the
classroom what they have learned in the school lessons. Student visit markets,
stores, businesses,... near the school to complete group work.

There are cultural and social activities in the afternoons, to teach students
about the culture of Andalusia and at the same time to enjoy free time
activities
like sports on the beach, museum visits . ... There are excursions planned on
the weekends to typical southern white towns and other cities in Andalusia.
Accommodations are in Spanish families. The peasant open character of the
Andalusia people help students to integrate easily in the families.
